Certified Reference Materials

These certified reference materials are used to monitor the accuracy of analyses reported by mineral testing laboratories. They are a nominal 40 micron particle size and are thoroughly blended to become as near to homogeneous as possible for the particular sample matrix. They are used by laboratories to calibrate their equipment and internal quality control, and used by mining companies to check that the laboratories are reporting analyses to an acceptable degree of accuracy.

We have an extensive range of standard materials to choose from. These come from a wide variety of sources and represent a good cross-section of sample matrices. We have supplied these certified reference materials to a large number of Australian projects and mines, as well as many consignments to Asia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America.

The tolerances attributed to these products have been assigned using values reported in the six-monthly Geostats Laboratory Survey. Over one hundred laboratories from all parts of the world take part in these surveys and the survey reports are subscribed to by many of the senior mining houses both in Australia and in other parts of the world.

Example packaging options and material types.

Gold Certified Reference Materials

We have more than one hundred gold certified reference materials available, ranging in values from 0.02 ppm Au to 47.24 ppm Au. We report both fire assay grades and aqua regia grades on all these products.

Low Level Gold Certified Reference Materials

Ten low level gold certified reference materials were introduced in 2001 and 10 new ones are added each year. These materials all have a gold grade less than 100 ppb and are reported in ppb.

Both of these materials can be packaged in heat sealed plastic pulp packets (in any weight) or 1kg tubs (as seen on left).

Carbon Certified Reference Materials

Barren and loaded carbon certified reference materials are also available, with various gold grades between 66 ppm and 7,769 ppm in stock. We report both gold and silver values (if available) for these products.

These materials are packaged in heat sealed foil pulp packets (in any weight) as seen on left.

Base Metal Certified Reference Materials

We have more than one hundred base metal certified reference materials with a wide range of values for copper, lead, zinc, nickel, arsenic, silver and cobalt.

Ore Grade Base Metal Certified Reference Materials

Ore Grade Base Metals were introduced in October of 2003. Currently we have six different certified reference materials with values for copper, lead, zinc and nickel.

Both of these materials can be packaged in heat sealed plastic pulp packets (in any weight) or 250gm tubs (as seen on left).

Sulphur Certified Reference Materials

We have more than 100 sulphur certified reference materials manufactured solely for this element to enable higher grade certified reference materials to be produced.

These materials are packaged in heat sealed plastic pulp packets (in any weight) as seen on left.

Multi-Element Certified Reference Materials

We have 6 multi-element certified reference materials that have statistics for Gold by Fire Assay, Gold by Aqua Regia, Silver, Copper, Lead, Zinc, Nickel, Arsenic, Cobalt and Sulphur.

These materials can be packaged in either heat sealed foil packets or sealed glass jars (as seen on left).
